THE EVENT.....
Weston Beace Race is an annual 2 day event held on the beach of Weston Super Mare, Somerset. This year will be the 26th year it has run, and will attract around 1000 solo riders in the main race on Sunday 12 October.
The race is scheduled to run for 3 hours, and is a test of skill and endurance for all the riders taking part. The track is around 3 1/2 miles long - including the "mile straight" down the beach, and the riders have to tackle a ridiculous amount of sand dunes around the track, which can be up to 30 feet high!
Many of the worlds top riders have taken part in this event, and it is a chance for the average rider to say they "raced against" them.
This event is no walk in the park, and tests even the best of riders which is why the entry list keeps getting bigger every year!
